It's SuSE-specific bug in GNU ld (it defaults an option to ON
that is
not even documented in the --help string or the man page).
./configure --pdump $the_rest_of_your_options
fixes, I bet.
./configure: Usage error:
Unrecognized option: --pdump
there maybe a bug here and there but why there is nothing in your
READMEs or FAQs or INSTALLs?
