I have libpng 1.2.22, and I cannot reproduce this crash. My XEmacs
reads the PNG file with no trouble. Your problem *could* be caused by
one of the following:
http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2007-5266
http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2007-5267
http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2007-5268
http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2007-5269
In any case, since I cannot reproduce on the same PNG file, I am all
but certain that your problem is caused by a buggy libpng, rather than
a buggy XEmacs. Is there any possibility of you getting hold of a
newer libpng to see if that fixes the problem?
