RE: Seting directory-sep-char to ?/ causes shell-mode to exit

Dear Bug Team! I start XEmacs via 'xemacs -vanilla' `shell-file-name' is a simple built-in variable. Value: "C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\cmd.exe" `shell-command-switch' (buffer: *Hyper Apropos*, mode: Hyper-Apropos) value: "/c" `shell-prompt-pattern' (buffer: *Hyper Apropos*, mode: Hyper-Apropos) value: "^[^#$%> ]*[#$%>] *" Then I start (shell) and it starts the cmd fine. Please also send us your of shell-command-switch - Switch used to have the shell execute its command line argument. * shell-file-name - File name to load inferior shells from. shell-prompt-pattern - Regexp to match prompts in the inferior shell.
