I disagree with this reasoning. With all due respect to Bill's worthy
contribution of cross-platform low-level DLL code, the new elisp-level
code looked better and more polished than anything we had before.
Perhaps J. Kean Johnston would be prepared to argue with Stallman over
this, but given his bad experiences a few messages before, I doubt it.
