But not all programs do. I live in shell mode. I open xterms and use

in the normal course of work but anytime I want to use a program that

NOT have editing (like isql for Sybase/sqlplus for Oracle) I find it

easier to use shell mode.
Oh yes, isql has a vi command and sqlplus has an ed command but that's
not the same as beign able to recall on the command line, cut and
paste, etc.
