I've been ignoring this for a while now, but it's really become
annoying. The system is Red Hat 9, my internet connection is via a
56k modem line. XEmacs is 21.4.13, compiled from source.
If I start XEmacs while not connected to the network and then connect,
XEmacs cannot connect to any host -- it fails with "temporary failure
in name resolution". On the other hand, if I start it while
connected, everything works fine, even if I then disconnect and
connect again.
The error message sounds like it's a DNS problem, but I don't know
what's causing it. Mozilla doesn't seem to have this problem.
Is anyone else seeing this?
