I think this is because we cannot reliably detect NAS and other minor
problems with NAS support. I just kept the default that was there.
Sound support needs some improvement. The current configure stuff
is
way too hard to understand.
Feel free change it around. I just wanted to get the ESD patch in
before it had gathered to much dust. I thought (and still think) the
current --with-sound stuff was the cleanest interface. Unfortunately
autoconf/shell hacking is not my speciality. I tried to model it after
the --error-checking stuff.
