Hello,
I am pleased that there is now a version of xemacs that
will run on an alpha. It was a real pain when i would
switch from programming on an x86 platform with a nice
stable xemacs to an alpha and have to use generic emacs.
There is one annoying feature that i have found.
When i highlite text with the mouse and then push the
copy or cut buttons in the xemacs toolbar and get
an infinite stream of:
Warning: Attempt to copy to unlocked clipboard!
Warning: Attempt to copy to unlocked clipboard!
Warning: Attempt to copy to unlocked clipboard!
Warning: Attempt to copy to unlocked clipboard!
I then have to kill -9 the xemacs process.
A work around for copying is to use the highlite and then
paste (with my middle mouse button) rather then the xemacs
buttons. Unfortunately the same trick doesn't work for
deleting text.
Is there some known work around this
"Warning: Attempt to copy to unlocked clipboard!"
problem?
Of course this is an alpha problem only...i never have the problem
on my x86 machines.
Note that i haven't compiled a new libpng:
-> WARNING: Compiling without PNG image support.
-> Reason: PNG library version too old (pre 1.0.2)!
as warned in the Installation.
The "Installation" file follows.
Thank you,
jim
