It's annoying, for sure, but all I can suggest is "Don't do that,
then." I haven't looked at it in a couple years, but this kind of
thing is hard to fix in a way that guarantees those files always get
remade when needed. Cf the blessmail mess.
If you want to work on it, be my guest, but IMO there are a lot more
important things to do.
