Uh, let's be happy they ship XEmacs at all. I for one have no
complaints about SuSE's support for XEmacs or for their XEmacs
users. Yes, this kind of thing causes _some_ users problems, but
it's a big improvement for many users over 21.4.
If that's fine with you, it's certainly fine with me. We used to
insist that the general public use and the Linux distros ship stable
versions, but I understand if that changed to reflect the new reality.
