Now the difficulty is not insurmountable and my feeling that there is no need is simply opinion but given the time I had back then I had to punt. Before you ask, my opinion on the lack of a need for a 64bit *macs is largely premised on the relative scarcity of multi GB files to around to edit. Admittedly, I'm curious as to the performance implications of such a beastie...
