I'll second that. autoconf 2.5 puts the help text somewhere deep in the
middle of the configure script so the only useful way of getting it is via
'configure --help'.
BTW, I wasn't paying much attention to the output of --help when I did the
conversion to 2.5, so it's output is a bit of a dog's breakfast. A bit of
testing tonight has shown that I can turn it into something that is very
similar to the 21.4 format, which should make your parsing easier. I'll post
a patch once I'm satisfied I haven't broken anything.

Please let configure.usage be your format guide, if possible.
Whitespace changes are not worth chasing down, just the structure of
lists, and documentation syntax.
