here is the output from M-x list-load-path-shadows
/home/rendhalver/.xemacs/elisp/gnus hides
/usr/local/xemacs/beta/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/gnus/gnus
/usr/local/xemacs/beta/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/ps-print/ps-print hides
/usr/local/xemacs/beta/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/ps-print-nomule/ps-print
2 Emacs Lisp load-path shadowings were found
that one looks like it may be causing some weirdness
/home/rendhalver/.xemacs/elisp/ was what was left in my init file when
i was testing before
i might just rename that directory, its just the config files for gnus
i was playing with a while ago so they can go elsewhere
i renamed that gnus.el file and now when i try to use patch-keywords i
get this backtrace
Signaling: (void-variable gnus-version)
patch-keywords-message-beginning-of-line()

. 4252) (let (... key keys) (while ... ...) (list ...))>("COMMIT")
call-interactively(patch-keywords-insert-vm)
im assuming thats because i dont have any options set for gnus
do i need to setup gnus to get patch-keywords to work with vm ??
