Possibly you're using an FTP client (seems unlikely in Red Hat 6.2,
but you could check) that EFS doesn't know about or an ancient EFS.
If you're behind a firewall, configuring EFS to tell FTP to use
passive mode might help.
Ok, that helps but not without glue.
I can't customise efs (The info tells that there is customise group for
efs, but there isn't) or I can't find from help how to change efs to use
ftp-client in the passive mode. So I changed system's ftp binary to
shell-script which calls ftp with -p. That's help, and everything works
after that like charm.
But obviously that won't work if you haven't root account at hand.
