| My fault. I nuked the depend file. Incorrect dependencies lead to
| infinite rebuilds. Should be fixed via my most recent patch for
| depend handling.

I recalled that this was before by change where I made the don't
panic message appear at all. Before that XEmacs went dumping on
puresize over/underflows, and I do not remeber which hack was used
to make it rebuild itself. Maybe this was the cause.
