RE: read-only files are now not read-only buffers
Ok, well, I don't understand it, but after changing my
"CYGWIN"
variable from
"tty" to "tty nontsec", opening a read-only file in XEmacs now
reflects the
read-only status. It's still a little odd that "vi" had no
trouble detecting
this, even before changing the CYGWIN value.
I'm sure you are aware that NT file permissions work subtley differently to
UNIX permissions. I suspect this is at work somehow.
