Just some more tests I did:
1. Compiling with older (2.95.2) compiler: didn't help. (my regular gcc
is 3.1).
2. Compiling on a newer SuSE distro: I used a SuSE8.1 distro, with gcc
3.2 installed, and had the same problem.
It happens to all users here, so it is not something in my init files
(which is rolled out also because it happens on "xemacs -vanilla").
Will it help if I'll send you the whole installation I get, or some
configuration files of the build (which?) ?
