may be I did not say that it happens once per 5 - 15 hours.
Next, I run XEmacs with gnuserv etc, but still, yes, that is one

Maybe others will jump in, but GCC 3.0x is known to screw up certain
code in XEmacs. I don't know whether 3.04 is afflicted, or whether
that bug is related to the problems you're seeing.
