OK. I'll think about doing something to preserve that "wisdom" (ie,
in accessible form, obviously it'll still be there in CVS). Not your
problem, for sure.
What do you think about my proposal to move the FAQ into the
general-docs package? In principle; obviously in practice we need a
packages-in-source-tarball facility (which I'm working on, we need it
for efs and xemacs-base in any case). So assume that there's a
reasonable way to distribute the general-docs package with source, and
that I'll come up with a sane transition strategy.
Note that I've already checked into syncing 21.4 and 21.5, and the
ONLY things (aside from a few typos) that differ are the presence of
bignum nodes and the required Info housekeeping changes.
I'd also like to move stuff like documentation of Texinfo and coding
standards there.
