cvs rm somedir
mv newdir somedir
cvs add somedir
cvs commit somedir
As long as you don't need to keep the file history (and for the files
that are just taken from upstream, I think it would be somewhat
pointless), this is dead easy. However, you would likely want to keep
the history of those files particular to the XEmacs package system.
