suggestion for the CVS archive
At sourceware, they have mailing-lists called automake-cvs and
autoconf-cvs. Each time there's a checkin, a message is sent on the list
indicating the affected files, among other things. I don't know how it's done,
but it looks rather automatic. Perhaps this would be a good thing if we had
the same for XEmacs sources.
