Sorting by major-mode seems to sort "incorrectly". This is
because
ibuffer displays mode-name, but sorts by major-mode.
2. Could sorting by major-mode be changed to visually agree with modes
displayed in ibuffer somehow?
I'm not sure whether it would be better to display major-mode instead
of mode-name in ibuffer or to sort by mode-name instead of major-mode.
I don't want to remove functionality. I think it may be better to
define-ibuffer-sorter mode-name and define-ibuffer-column major-mode.
The former would break compatibility with old list-buffers
appearance,
though.
I think that's OK.
How about changing from 'ibuffer-do-sort-by-major-mode
to
'ibuffer-do-sort-by-mode-name?
I think having both may be better.
