So if you don't use them, how come they bother you so much? I don't

I'm not sure why, they just are. Perhaps I'm unconsciously reacting to
the fact that they were simply added, and no way was given of turning
them off. Maybe it's the fact that emacs now closely resembles a
windows application, even though I'm running under Linux.
