Maybe this behaviour is to be expected, but it puzzles me. When I
start xemacs and *then* connect via a Modem, xemacs does *not* seem to
know about that connection. That is sending email is refused (cannot
connect to the server) nor can I receive email, (gnus
unplugged-->plugged).
I simply have to restart xemacs, then everything works fine.
Is there anything I could do, besides that inconvenient restart.
This sounds like a problem on the level of your OS. Make sure your modem
connection scripts set the default route to be the modem connection. Do
other applications behave similarly?
