Bug #117375, was updated on 2000-Oct-21 07:00
Here is a current snapshot of the bug.
Project: xemacs
Category: None
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Bug Group: None
Priority: 5
Summary: Long standing bug in XEmacs' dired
Details: It's time to ask if I'm the only one using XEmacs' dired.
For ages dired in XEmacs does not work as it should. Scrolling down the list of files and
directory entries a lot of entries are not recognized by XEmacs. When you press return you
get the error message that no file is on this line. That's total rubbish and works
perfectly in GNU-Emacs. I would like to use XEmacs instead of GNU-Emacs, because I think
it's the better Emacs, but in the last months I use dired more than ever and this
stops me to use XEmacs, because it simply doesn't work. Please fix that, I think it
cannot be such a big problem.
Currently I use xemacs-21.1.12-3 on Red Hat 7.0.
tnx,
boris
