Down at the bottom, there's a defadvice; I somehow left a line in I thought I'd deleted. Blap it out and replace with this: (defadvice write-file (before After-save activate) (if (After-save--ascmd-property) (setq modeline-process nil))) ... shouldn't be much more work than applying a patch.
