I'm working on a visual package installer. With the exception of
coding an elisp-only replacement for add-big-package.sh, the initial
version is largely done, including initial user documentation (for the
XEmacs User's Guide). I've attached a copy of the rewritten, formatted
info node on installing packages. Note that the documentation looks
cumbersome, but it's real easy to use; just select the packages you want
from a descriptive list, press the "x" key, and -- bang -- you're done.
No more wading through lots of menus, although that interface is still
present.
