Hmmmm.... I did a fresh CVS checkout. Comparing the two packages
trees shows that I have Local.rules, macro.list, and macro.suppress in
my original tree, but not in the new tree. That's normal. I also
have xemacs-packages/eshell/esh-groups.el in the old tree, but not the
new tree. Is that a generated file? If so, "make extraclean" should
remove it. Anyway, that's it. There are no other differences. I'll
try building again today and see if it was a gremlin.
I believe it's not a gremlin nor will it be solved by 'make distclean'
or 'make extraclean'. I always build from fresh CVS sources and using
an XEmacs 21.5 newer than 2008-02-15 I cannot build the packages, on
my linux boxes at work or at home.
