Normal ftp operations from the shell do succeed, however, with anonymous
logins. I did not have this problem with my previous RedHat 6.2
workstation, but it appears now that I am shifting to redHat 7.0.
I've seen a couple of these reports. Another from Per Bothner gives
a trace to anonymous(a)ftp.xemacs.org:
