Problems with first time V21 Installation attempt

I downloaded and built 21.0 "Finnish Landrace" on my HP. Things went OK in general, but I wanted to note a couple of problems in case they are not known: 1. Somehow the Info-directory-list missed the info under xemacs-packages and site-packages and instead contained the following two directories as extras: "/usr/local/info/site-info" "/usr/local/info" 2. VC menu did not appear by default. This is understandable, since the package may not have been installed. However, I noticed that files which are supposed to be under RCS did nore register when I visited them. I had to load VC explicitly in my init file. Is this normal, or is there another way to just post the VC menu and recognize RCSed files? 3. When I invoke XEmacs V21 from home in the tty, it sees C-h mapped to BS. In other words when I do <`M-x help' c C-h>, it shows "BS". When I invoke V20.4 from the same tty, however, C-h is interpreted properly as the help prefix. I could not find any relevant changes in the News. What gives?
