hi Aidan,
Yes, and No. in the current(unstable branch, aka. sid) Debian,
fontconfig.h seems have both function name avaiable. But when it throw out a
link error with a non-exist symbol whose name is
"FcConfigGetInverval_replaced_by_fcconfiggetinterval" or
"FcConfigSetInverval_replaced_by_fcconfigsetinterval".
It's very interesting :D

Ar an seachtú lá déag de mí na Samhain, scríobh FKtPp:
Dear developers,
After today's system upgrade and xemacs cvs up, I find that:
font-mgr.c line 901
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
/* The misspelling in the fontconfig function name accurately
corresponds to
the version of fontconfig.h I had on 2007-04-13. -- sjt */
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
This problem seems corrected by: [current Debian packages]
Does fontconfig.h in the current Debian packages make the old names
(FcConfigGetInverval, FcConfigSetInverval) available too? If so, then
we
can stick with the existing code; if not, we'll have to add an autoconf
test
to work around the incompatibility.
