That would be too much, I think. The modeline is long and
already
full. Alternately, having a single modeline displaying information for the
selected window, and a status bar with the progress gauge and the echo area
would be nice.
I'm basing this on other apps rather than any sense of aesthetics - other
apps simply don't have modelines and that is what makes things archaic for me.
