Because you're very likely running as root. Maybe not in a corporate
environment, but I don't know anybody who doesn't run as Administrator
at home. All my colleagues do in the office, although the student lab
is better run.
Document it, and say it's an "anti-virus measure", is my taste. Maybe
somebody who finds it sufficiently annoying will come up with a patch
to properly detect Windows user IDs.
