Adiran,
Thanks for the suggestions. Is this docvumented in the INSTALL
document or somewhere else? I see you can get all packages needed by
Gnus, and that is great.
Unfortunately, when I try to (package-get-all 'gnus nil), I get an
error saying that efs-ftp is not present. Hmmm. Several other
package-get routines also produce errors. Is it possible that
package-get itself requires several non-base packages?
Well, I'll spend some time reading the documentation on package-get
and see if that might explain things.
I still think this will cause massive confusion when 21.0 comes out
unless it's much better documented. Maybe something in the splash
might help, but I suspect few will ever get past theirt .emacs
files. There needs to be something in both README and INSTALL to warn
users that this will be just a bit different from all previous
versions and that it may be best to wait for futher 21.0 releases
before installing unless you are willing to spend some time on it.
Once again, I love the idea, but I'm not sure it's ready to unleash on
the unsuspecting.
