M-x locate-library desktop reveals Library is file packages/xemacs-packages/lisp/edit-utils/desktop.elc You have to install the edit-utils-package. If you dunno about packages, have a look at the corresponding info page and the included etc/NEWS and etc/PACKAGES file. And then ... have a look at Options->Manage Packages. Perhaps we should add a note on packages to the Splash Buffer ?
