On Tue, 14 Aug 2001, Valdis Kletnieks uttered the following:
gcc3 won't compile the current CVS with -fomit-frame-pointer.
The gcc3-3.0-5 RPM from RedHat fails while trying to start ./temacs
with a bad branch into Flax_plist_get(). gcc-2.96-94 RPM works fine.
GCC-3.0's -fomit-frame-pointer is broken on x86; you can't even
bootstrap GCC with it on. There are half a dozen reports in GNATS about
it already.
I haven't figured out yet whether this is a GCC 3.0 bug, or if
XEmacs is
It is almost certainly a GCC-3.0 bug.
