Hello
Did somebody contact lately one of the authors of the folding
package. I suffer 2 bugs and wrote them several mail none of them got
replied. Is there a new folding maintainer?

I have never got a reply from Jari Aalto, on ca. 5 attempts spread over
a few months.
He seems to be in output-only mode.

This version I have, still it contains some serious bugs, especially
in Latex, these bug were absent in the 21.1.x series though.

My first guess would be that we don't have his current mail address in
the file and so on. While most folks capable of developing packages
useful for a long time keep their address the same, a few submit to
the temptation to run from spam.
The second possibility would be a really fascist spam filter, but that
doesn't sound like Jari, either.

That is a point. I admit I use such a
filter recently, since I am
faced with a spam 'attack' (around 1000 mails a day), but for sure
Jari has some more intelligent solution.
It is however frustrating to have a package (which I rely on very
much), which gets updated, but no bug report gets answered.
(Best would be if the Xemacs package maintainers would have the
authors 'real' address, carefully protected from spammers of course;
just kidding)

For full packages with a single maintainer, we have the
$package-maintainer(a)xemacs.org address, but we have no formal program
to keep it updated.
If somebody does track Jari down, we should fix the address in files
he maintains.

with bogofilter.

no, this might be a good idea, thanks.
When it occurred I needed
something fast, (this MS virus caused spam did pass spamassin with
ease) but since then I had a couple of false positives, so I might
give this a try.
