This sounds pretty lame, but in the interests of polishing xemacs21 for
release I'll say it.
I recently installed xemacs21-b62 from cvs. I found mime/view-mode,
followed by e for extract in gnus failed with a message about tmencode
not finding mmencode. This was being called by the script in
/usr/local/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lib-src/tmdecode
which seemed not to be able to find the mmencode binary, indicating a
problem with the path.
My solution was to copy the binary to /usr/local/bin/ directory, but a
better solution would obviously be to add the correct path to the
script.
cp /usr/local/lib/xemacs-21.0-b62/i686-pc-linux/mmencode /usr/local/bin/
BTW, I'm blown away by the package management option. That's so
cool. I did notice that from cvs I have some packages more uptodate
than the ftp list. How and who will maintain this archive?
