XEmacs from trunk source works great for me on X on Mac.
I have installed from DarwinPorts/MacPorts in the past, but I
haven't used it much. MacPorts XEmacs is currently 21.4.21-based,
and gives you Mule, Athena 3d widgets, dbm database, and the SUMO
packages by default. Seemed to work OK, though 21.4 is really
constraining for me, so I rarely use the MacPorts version (and
don't even have it installed on the Mac in front of me right now).
Ok thanks, an important thing for me are the keys. [1]
I am an addict to the keyboard since I don't use an external mouse.
So the Mac Laptops have far less keys then their PC counterpart, no
delete key for example. That is why I would like to have at lease an
additional modifier key, either super or hyper. I see two candidatas,
the fn key or the apple key, but I don't know whether they can be mapped
for the X11 server to these modifiers.
Uwe
