Ar an ceathrú lá de mí Lúnasa, scríobh Jerry James:
I compiled a new XEmacs from the latest in Mercurial, and a new set
of
packages from the latest in CVS over the weekend, the first time I've
done that in about 6 weeks. Now, on my x86_64 Fedora 9 system with a
GNOME desktop and metacity, the first XEmacs frame starts up with the
"Always on top" property set. Subsequent frames created with C-x 5 2
don't have that property set. I have neither .Xdefaults nor
.Xresources on the affected machine. This is only a minor annoyance,
since I can easily remove that property, but I'd like to know why it
is getting set on that first frame, especially since this did not
happen with my previous build. Has anyone else seen this? If not,
I'll file a proper bug report.
I don’t see this Jerry, though that could be because I’m not totally clear
on the concept. How do I check if a window has the “always on top” propery?
xprop? Here’s what I get on my machine with the latest Mercurial sources:
WM_PROTOCOLS(ATOM): protocols WM_DELETE_WINDOW, WM_TAKE_FOCUS
_WINDOWSWM_NATIVE_HWND(INTEGER) = 1639684
WM_CLIENT_LEADER(WINDOW): window id # 0xe00001
WM_LOCALE_NAME(STRING) = "de"
WM_CLASS(STRING) = "XEmacs", "XEmacs"
WM_HINTS(WM_HINTS):
Client accepts input or input focus: True
Initial state is Normal State.
bitmap id # to use for icon: 0xe0009f
window id # of group leader: 0xe00001
WM_NORMAL_HINTS(WM_SIZE_HINTS):
program specified size: 584 by 606
program specified minimum size: 94 by 99
program specified resize increment: 7 by 13
program specified base size: 24 by 86
window gravity: NorthWest
WM_CLIENT_MACHINE(STRING) = "eco"
WM_ICON_NAME(STRING) = "*scratch*"
WM_NAME(STRING) = "XEmacs: *scratch*"
I did make some changes recently in the X11 startup code, so if this isn’t
a x86_64 Fedora 9-specific oddity, it’s my problem.
