As you know, it only works up to 2004 even with 31-bit integers,
unless we introduce an unsigned type. But other people want negative
dates; not all creation myths start with the PDP-8.
We demand bignums! I can't see that being all that much harder than
having a special type that only supports addition and subtraction of
ints, and comparision with itself. At least allow addition and
subtraction of the type from itself; then you can have arbitrarily big
buffers, too.
