You mean it does not rebuild auto-autoloads.elc? The core lisp
part of the build process has never rebuilt auto-autoloads.el (or
custom-load.el) as a routine part of the build.
Are you sure? I remember having only to type `gmake' after modifying a
core lisp file. So what's the target? Hmm, I'm really surprised. What if you
change the doc string of an autoloaded function ? Even removing the DOC didn't
lead to an autoloads rebuild.
