So I wouldn't feel too bad about not making the finals. I think

will take several years before all the people that deserve to win,
actually make it to the finals.
My guess is that either Donald Knuth or Larry Wall will win.
How late are they announcing the winner? It's really late on the east
coast.
I hope it's the Apache group. They have taken on Microsoft and are
kicking serious butt. They have proven in spades that Open Software
must be taken seriously. Bill Gates and his billions cannot seem to
buy a dominant share of the web server market and a group of dedicated
and talented volunteers can. I like that.
