This is the autoconf nanny at your service. We attempted to placate
her, but there was a typo in the magic incantation. It's fixed in the
trunk.
Regarding the build itself, it looks like most of the warnings have to
do with 64-bit unclean code. I suspect that Carbon XEmacs has never
been audited for that. Perhaps they can be ignored for your purpose.
The errors are another matter. It looks like Apple, having declared
the Carbon interface to be obsolete, has seen fit to change it in Snow
Leopard. Andrew Choi is still on Leopard, as am I. It's possible
he's updated his code in
http://members.shaw.ca/akachoi-xemacs/diffs/xemacs-21.5.29-carbon-b8.diff...
for this issue, but it seems unlikely, since he writes that he hasn't
worked on XEmacs in a while.
It probably can be made to build and work, but I'm not in a position
to help with that for a while.
