Hmm. I'm surprised. I ALWAYS build from scratch, then re-apply my local
stuff. I would have thought others would do the same.
I, too, now always rebuild from scratch. I got burned when a patch for
the package I maintain didn't get to the CVS tree. But, since my
version was OK, it kept building fine for me.
I was horrified when, just before a possible 21.0 release date, I
found that a build from scratch failed. The patch is now in the CVS
tree, but I now make it policy to build at least once from scratch,
just to be safe. Paranoia is not always a bad thing. :-)
And I almost ALWAYS hit glitches in loading/building the packages. -:(
But it seems to be getting better. A mite troubling when I hear Steve
is having a problem!
Guess I'll try building pre8 since I have not built anything since
pre4. Could be a long day (or not).
