Due to the better level of compression given by bzip2, I will start

of the bulkier .tar.gz.
:-( Is this really necessary? The number of non-standard things one
must have to work with XEmacs is growing at a very fast rate. Now
that gzip has been practically a standard thing for years, could we
please stick to it?
The 21.0 release (whenever that will be) will have both .tar.gz and
.tar.bz2 files. Both egcs and the Linux kernel have been issuing
simultaneous .tar.gz and .tar.bz2 files and it's time we do too.
I have no problems with sumultaneous .gz and .bz2 release. bz2-only
is what bothers me.
