I configured and compiled again, this time with explicit
--with-menubars=lucid (INSTALL says this is the default)

Now when I do this as a normal user, or as root (using su and setenv display)
then the menubar/tool bars look old plain gnu one.
Does M-x describe-installation reckon "Using Lucid scrollbars" ?
When I log in as root with my own KDE session and start it,
xemacs looks like using Lucid, I say it looks because of the
greyscale, I had a close look and it is not Lucid, just gnu looking
more grey.
Different X Resources ?
