GC bug

        Well I can reproduce one of the GC problems we are having:
./xemacs -q
C-x C-f gutter-items.el
M-x garbage-collect

If you then try clicking on a tab nothing happens because the callback has
been garbage collected.

No time to investigate - I have to go and see the acropolis. I'll see if I
can figure it out on the plane on the way back
