What? None of our 30+ machines (320, 250, 43p, C10, F40, ...) has
one.
Most modern AIX machines have vanilla PS/2 keyboards.
I think I know what Martin is talking about - a long long time ago
in a galaxy not far away enough, IBM shipped a truly weird curses-based
"Usability services" for AIX 1.2 (which ran on a real PS/2). It included
a replacement keycap for the key just under the right shift key
(which is labeled "Action" on my RT keyboard, and "Ctrl/Act" on
the keyboard on this RS6k-350 - not sure what it is actually labelled
on the 43P in my office).
It was engraved with "Execute" - probably as a throw-back to the 3270
keyboard, which has "Enter" there (the key usually labeled "Enter"
performs a "skip to first field of next line" action in the block-mode
oriented 3270 architecture).
For what it's worth, at least some RS6K keyboards *look* identical
to a PS2 keyboard, but are electrically different enough that they
will NOT interchange - the RS6K would work on a PS2 but the PS2
keyboards won't work on all RS6K. To tell for sure, do an 'lsdev -C'
and see if device 'kbd0' is a "PS2 Keyboard" or a "United States
Keyboard" -
the latter isn't interchangeable, even though it looks like it should,
and the plug fits. ;)
