Ar an ceathrú lá déag de mí na Samhain, scríobh Hauke Fath:
All,
I am in the process of updating the pkgsrc editors/xemacs-current from
21.5.27 to 21.5.34. While generally a lot of patches and hacks are
falling to the wayside, I was wondering about the state of non-X11/Lucid
support - gtk in particular.
There is stuff like wrong prototypes, borken debug code, and a
XEMACS_GTK_OBJECT_DATA macro that happens exactly once in the source
tree, all suggesting this probably shouldn't be fixed by a packager.
Can anybody fill me in on the current state? Should I just strip any
non-X11/Lucid toolkit support from the package?
The current state is that GTK development is happening in
https://bitbucket.org/jsparkes/xemacs-gtk . After cleaning up the
unicode-internal merge, getting that building, running, and merged into
trunk is my next priority; the project isn’t active enough for separate
repositories to make sense.
For the moment, in your position, I would document the GTK support as not
working. That will change.
Best,
Aidan
